Democracy advocates are constantly looking for new, efficient, and effective ways to engage folks and get them involved in the democratic process. This week, the Election Protection coalition released its new smartphone app, which gives users all of the information they need before they cast a ballot (and verifying whether they can cast a ballot in the first place).

Democracy advocates are constantly looking for new, efficient, and effective ways to engage folks and get them involved in the democratic process. This week, the Election Protection coalition released its new smartphone app, which gives users all of the information they need before they cast a ballot (and verifying whether they can cast a ballot in the first place).

After downloading the app, users will be able to:

  • Verify their registration and register to vote;
  • Look up their polling place;
  • Review key voting rules and regulations for their state;
  • See what type of machine they vote on; and
  • Contact Election Protection via phone or email to report a problem or get answers to their questions.

Especially as smartphone usage rates amongst people of color have increased recently, the app could ensure that this valuable information reaches the people who need it most.
